Mercredi: The Art of Beauty

Really, as much style as beauty here. These were the days, kids. If only Oscar attendees had this kind of panache once again! Frank Sinatra, Ava Gardner, Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh photographed by Bret Hardy circa 1952. Thanks to the wonderful We Had Faces Then blog for originally posting this. Stunning.

Classic Hollywood royalty... Back when Hollywood had style and substance. Sadly, those days are long gone and most likely never to return, Pauline.

It was a curious but in some ways wonderful era that both you and I, by chance of birth, missed "in the flesh." Thank goodness for fabulous photographers like Mr. Hardy.
